“OEKO-TEST” grades Prinzen Rolle as “Good”

A good result, thanks to our improved recipe / marked reduction of

3-MCPD fatty acid ester

Well-deserved recognition for the optimisation of our recipe: in its current March issue, the magazine, “OEKO-TEST”, has awarded Prinzen Rolle by Griesson - de Beukelaer (GdB), Gemany’s best-selling biscuit, an overall grade of “Good”. The marked reduction in the amount of 3-MCPD fatty acid ester in the biscuits was acknowledged.

GdB abandoned the use of hydrogenated fats and flavourings in Prinzen Rolle in 2009. Over the last year, the company has succeeded in reducing the proportion of acrylamide and 3-MCPD fatty acid ester in the biscuits appreciably. 3-MCPD fatty acid ester is formed in the refining of fats. In 2009, “OEKO-TEST” had criticised the too high values in Prinzen Rolle and took appropriate account of these in the evaluation.
